What to bring to camp

The best way to prepare for skiing/snowboarding on Mt Hood is to wear many layers. Air temperature can be quite cool in the early morning and can heat up significantly by the end of the day. With that being said, you need to be prepared for both extremes each and every day.  Your backpack needs to be big enough to hold all those layers as well as a lunch and a water bottle. 

For everyone:

(Everyone) Off Hill Needs:
• Towel
• Toiletries: Shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothpaste/toothbrush, deodorant
• Casual and athletic clothing for all temperatures (light jacket, rain coat, hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants, shorts)
• Sleepwear
• Athletic shoes
• Swimsuit (for lakes, hot tubs, saunas, or water park)
• Sunscreen and chapstick
• Tuning Gear (we have benches for tuning) Wax, file, etc
• Chargers and Adapters
• Spending money for snacks, souvenirs, and etc

What do Ski Racers Need to bring to camp:

(Race) On Hill Training Needs:
• Slalom Skis and GS Skis
• Poles - Slalom poles with pole guards
• Ski boots
• Speedsuit, shorts, snow pants
• Boot Bag (campers need a bag of some sort to bring gear to the mountain and to bring lunch and water up to the
mountain)
• Goggles (with dark and light lenses)
• Shin Guards
• Helmet with removable chin-bar
• Jacket
• Extra layers (fleece, hoodie, puffy, vest)
• Gloves/mittens (two pairs -so there is always a dry backup)
• Base layers
• Water bottle
• Multiple pairs of ski socks

RECOMMENDED:
• Back protector
• Stealth padded top

 

What do Mogul Skiers need to bring to camp:

(Mogul) On Hill Training Needs:
• Mogul Skis
• Ski Boots
• Backpack (campers need a bag of some sort to bring gear to the mountain and to bring lunch and water up to the
mountain)
• Goggles (with dark and light lenses)
• Jacket
• Extra layers (fleece, hoodie, puffy, vest)
• Gloves/mittens (two pairs -so there is always a dry backup)
• Base layers
• Water bottle

 

What do Freeskiers need to bring to camp:

(Freestyle) On Hill Training Needs:
• Twin tip skis
• Poles
• Ski boots
• Backpack (campers need a bag of some sort to bring gear to the mountain and to bring lunch and water up to the
mountain)
• Goggles (with dark and light lenses)
• Jacket
• Extra layers (fleece, hoodie, puffy, vest)
• Gloves/mittens (two pairs -so there is always a dry backup)
• Base layers
• Water bottle

What do Snowboaders need to bring to camp:

(Snowboard) On Hill Training Needs:
• Snowboard
• Snowboard boots
• Backpack (campers need a bag of some sort to bring gear to the mountain and to bring lunch and water up to the
mountain)
• Goggles (with dark and light lenses)
• Jacket
• Extra layers (fleece, hoodie, puffy, vest)
• Gloves/mittens (two pairs -so there is always a dry backup)
• Base layers
• Water bottle
