Staff

We have an excellent staff that love skiing and/or snowboarding, and have an intense desire to pass on this love and dedication to all our campers. Our camp motto is "Everybody gets better here", and we hire the best staff to help maximize your skill improvement at camp.

 

 

	Mike Annett, Camp Owner Mike brought a dozen racers from the east coast to Mt Hood in the fall of 1978 for some early season training on the newly built Palmer chairlift.  He quickly discovered the incredible opportunity the area offered for summer training, and the rest is history.   When Mike isn't busy running the camp, he enjoys tennis, windsurfing, and playing bridge.
	Lynne Annett, Camp Owner Lynne has been there every step of the way alongside Mike running this camp since 1979, while raising 2 daughters.  She attended Suny Cortland where she majored in Elementary Education.  Lynne retired from teaching elementary school in the Hood River school district.  She also was the Mighty-Mite Director at Squaw Valley. Lynne enjoys tennis, gardening, family and traveling and her favorite website is Websudoku.com.
	Bill Toney, Camp Manager Bill is a ski racer from Reno, Nevada.  He studied Architecture at University of Utah.  His favorite website is ExpeditionPortal.com and  he enjoys eating Mexican food.  Bill also enjoys road-biking and waterpolo.  He's also a wildland firefighter.  Bill has been working at camp since 2007.
	Jordan Misaros, Office Manager Jordan is a ski racer from Brighton, Michigan. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Political Science. She coaches racing at Mt. Brighton. Her favorite website is New York Times Games and favorite food is ramen. Her favorite camp activity is White Water Rafting. Jordan has been working at camp since 2015.
	Jack Reid Jack is a snowboarder from Morganton, NC. He's a "Jack" of all trades at camp and does a little bit of everything to help camp operate day to day. He likes to eat tacos. When he grows us, he wants to be an "expert", and he is a world renowned ladiesman. Jack has been working at camp since 2011.

ALPINE RACE COACHES

	Mike Syrovatka Currently coaching at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Mike also coached Gould Academy as well as the Canadian National team (NorAm, Europa Cup, World Cup levels), 1995-2002. He also was head coach at Bromont Ski Academy in Quebec. Mike brings with him 30+ years of experience and success at every level.  He's been with MHSSC since 2002.
	Dave Kerwynn Dave is a long-time Alpine race coach from Manchester, VT. He's coached at the World Cup level with team USA and team Canada. His favorite website is youtube and favorite food is steak. Dave enjoys road biking, hiking and walking the dogs, and he roots for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. Dave started working at camp in 2006.
	Terry McLeod Terry, from Sandpoint, Idaho, is the former ski school director at Schweitzer Mountain.  Terry attended Walla Walla College earning a degree in Business and Construction Technology. He loves ice cream and his favorite website is bikingnews.com. Terry competes in cycling. He is married with 2 daughters. Terry started working at MHSSC in 1996.
	Carson Ruud Carson is an alpine coach from Wenatchee, Washington where he is the head U14 coach at Mission Ridge. He enjoys backpacking, fishing, hunting and skiing. He roots for the Washington State University cougars football team.. Carson has been working at camp since 2019.
	Simon Marsh Simon us a U10/U12 Alpine coach at Ski & Snowboard Club Vail. He was also coach at Vail High School and coach/instructor at Perisher Australia and University La Catola, Chile. His favorite website is Sprongo.com and favorite food is Mexican. Simon also enjoys biking, tennis, and surfing and he roots for the Boston Red Sox. Simon starting coaching at MHSSC in 2015.
	Bob Robicsek Bob lives in Atkinson, NH. He is the head U19/U16 Coach and Assistant Program Director at Crotched Mountain Race Team, NH.  He enjoys sushi and bbq anything.  He roots for the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and the Red Sox. Bob enjoys surfing and road cycling. He's been with MHSSC since 2001.
	Matthew Smallhouse Matthew is a ski racer from Reno, Nevada. His favorite website is fis-ski.com/biographies. Favorite food is fried spinach. He wants to be an astronaut or firefighter when he grows up. Matthew has been working at camp since 2018.
	Jason Hattery Jason is a high school ski coach originally from Bozeman, Montana. His favorite website is youtube and favorite food is Thai. Jason enjoys skiing, hiking, and photography. He roots for the Portland Trail Blazers and San Francisco 49ers. Jason has been working at camp since 2012
	Lily Rezai Lily is a ski racer from Katonah, NY. She attends Princeton University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She coached at Aspen (AVSC). She wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up. Lily enjoys surfing and her favorite camp activity is "knockout". She's been working at camp since 2016.
	Fiona Sawyer Fiona is a ski racer from Utah. She attends Boston College where she is on the ski team. Her favorite food is Mango and favorite camp activity is Rock Climbing. When she grows up, she wants to be a Physical Therapist. Fiona started working at camp in 2024
	Sean Mailey Sean, from Portland, Oregon, is the Athletic Director at Hood River High School in Hood River, Oregon. He coached high school ski racing for several years. His favorite food is Pho and favorite camp activity is Cliff Jumping. He roots for the Oregon Ducks.  He's married with 2 kids.  Sean has been part of MHSSC since 2005.
	Elen Holická Elen is from Czech Republic. She started working at camp in 2024.
	Denes Balazs Denes is from Hungary. He is the Technical Director at Timberline, coach at Mt Hood Meadows race team and was in instructor at Aspen. His favorite food is cheescake and favorite website is bigpictureskiing.com. Denes started working at camp in 2024.

MOGUL COACHES

	Julia Moores Julia is fromTrumbull, Connecticut. She was a Studio Art major with a minor in Psych from Fordham University. She enjoys sushi and painting. She also loves cats. Julia began working at MHSSC in 2022.
	Cora Peto Cora is a from Vail, Colorado. She is currently attending Colorado Mountain College as a pre-nursing student. Her favorite website is The Weather Channel. She enjoys mountain biking, wakeboarding and any other outdoor activities. Cora wants to be a pediatric nurse when she grows up. She started working at camp in 2024.
	Harrison Schunk Harrison is from Yorktown, New York. He is a Stratton Mountain School graduate and a current student at CU Boulder, majoring in Environmental Design, Architecture. His favorite food is soft pretzels, king crab legs and dumplings. He enjoys skiing and fast cars. Harrison has been working at camp since 2022.
	Tyler Frenchman Tyler started working at camp in 2024.
	David Belhumeur David started working at camp in 2024.
	Luke Yapp Luke is a freeskier from Ellensburg, Washington. He's our mogul digger/jump builder His favorite food is pizza and favorite website is Newschoolers.com. He roots for the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team. Luke started working at camp in 2024.

 

FREESKI COACHES

	Mike Carmazzi Mike is from Hinsdale, IL. He's worked as a coach, digger, sales and technician in the ski industry. His favorite website is youtube and favorite food is tacos. He enjoys skating, swimming, and spreading peace. He roots for the Chicago Blackhawks. Mike started working at camp in 2019.
	Oscar Weary Oscar lives in Wilsonville, Oregon. His favorite website is newschoolers and favorite food is Thai food. He roots for the Portland Trail Blazers and wants to be a chef when he grows up. Oscar started working at camp in 2017.
	Andrew Parry Andrew is from Victor, NewYork. He has a BS in Hospitality Management. His favorite food is Pizza and favorite website is mthood.com. His favorite afternoon activity is dodge ball and he roots for the Buffalo Bills. He has 2 cats and they are awesome. Andy started working at camp in 2022.
	Simon Knight Simon is a freestyle coach from Cashmere, Washington. He coaches at Stevens Pass and has been a digger at Mission Ridge. His favorite website is mthood.com and his favorite food are corn and saj bread. He enjoys skiing and skateboarding and he roots for the Cashmere Bulldogs. He wants to be a gardener when he grows up. 	Dasha Agafonova- Knight Dasha is a freeski coach, from St. Petersburg, Russia. She was a photography major and is a professional skier with Line Skis. Her favorite website is anjoubakerg.com and favorite foods include cheeseburgers and mashed potatoes. She enjoys rollerblading, free skating and art things. She roots for Griffindor. Dasha has been working at camp since 2023.

SNOWBOARD COACHES

	Griffin Frigaard Griffin is a snowboarder from Government Camp, Oregon. He rides for Santa Cruz Snowboards. Griffin's favorite website is instagram and favorite food are chicken sandwiches. He roots for the Portland Trail Blazers. Griffin started working at camp in 2021.
	Brantley Mullins Brantley is a snowboarder from Johnson City, Tennessee. She has a Bachelor's degree in Media and Communications from East Tennessee State University. She has coached at Liberty Snowflex, Beech Mountain Freestyle team and High Cascade snowboard camp. Her favorite food is orange chicken and she roots for the Boston Celtics. She wants to be a Nascar driver when she grows up! Brantley started working at camp in 2024.
	Nic Herringa (a.k.a. Cork McNortis) Nic is a snowboarder from Bowen Island, British Columbia. He's the owner of Salmon Arms Handwear, Inc (salmonarms.com) and his favorite food is sushi. Nic enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, snowboarding and art. Nic started working at camp in 2018.

	Alliy Hansen Alliy is a freeskier from Akron, Ohio. She graduated with an Environmental Scienc degree fromrWestminster College She coaches freeskiers at Winter Park.. Her favorite website is nytimes.com/games/wordle, and favorite food is corn. Alliy enjoys driving the bus and she likes frogs. She's been working at camp since 2019.
	Richard Casey Richard is a ski racer from Mamoroneck, New York. He's majoring in Astrophysics at Colgate University. His favorite website is The Onion and favorite food is pasta and crab rangoon. He enjoys mountain biking, climbing, whitewater sports and he roots for the U.S. Ski Team. Richard started working at camp in 2015.
	Jonathan Rosenstrach Jonathan is a ski racer from Newton, Massachusetts. His favorite food is pizza and he enjoys mountain biking and hiking. He roots for the Boston Bruins. Jonathan as been working at camp since 2017.
	Matthew Cadol Matthew is a freeskier from Denver, Colorado. He is a Computer Science and Electrical Engineering major at University of Colorado. His favorite website is instagram.com/unnamed.steeze, and favorite food is steak. He enjoys biking, tennis, working out, reading, rubik's cube and coding. He roots for the Denver Nuggets. 	Grant Auday Grant is a freeskier from Boulder, Colorado. He's a Political Science major at University of Colorado. He's a ski coach at Eldora and his favorite food is tacos. Grant enjoys skating and playing basketball, and he roots for the Denver Nuggets. Grant has been working at camp since 2023.
	Henry Sabella Henry is a freeskier from Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. His favorite food is a double bacon cheeseburger with pickles and favorite website is Jibskin.com. Henry's favorite camp activity is the Trampoline and he roots for the New York Red Bulls. He wants to be an Entrepreneur when he grows up. Henry started working at camp in 2023.
	Riley Raymond Riley is a ski racer from Atlantic Highlands, NJ. She's an economics major at Colgate University. Her favorite food is Penne vodka and favorite website is Youtube. She enjoys hiking and she roots for the New York Rangers. Riley has been working at camp since 2024.

	Samantha Iroff Samantha is a ski racer from Atlanta, Georgia. Her favorite website is mthood.com and favorite food is sushi. She enjoys skiing and skateboarding and she roots for the Atlanta Braves. Samantha wants to be a journalist when she grows up. She's been working at camp since 2023.
	Adelaide Kipiniak Adelaide is a freeskier from Brooklyn, New York. Her favorite website is mthood.com and favorite foods include Almond croissants, thai food, and Italian food. She enjoys dancing, making bracelets and skiing, and she roots for the New York Yankees. She wants to be an Engineer when she grows up Adelaide has been working at camp since 2022.
	Isa Halle Isa is a ski racer from Portland, Oregon. Her favorite food are pesto pasta and açaí bowls and her favorite website is mthood.com Her favorite camp activity is cherry picking and she roots for the Portland Timbers. Isa wants to be a lawyer when she grows up. She likes to read and she's excited for camp this summer! She's been working at camp since 2022.
	Adele Tanini Adele is a mogul skier from Hoboken, New Jersey. Her favorite foods are Acai bowls and sushi, and favorite website is Netflix. Adele's favorite camp activity is cherry picking and she roots for the New York Rangers. She wants to be an Engineer when she grows up. Adele started working at camp in 2022.
	Dylan Prado Dylan is a freeskier from New Jersey. His favorite food is burgers and favorite camp acativity is the trips to Hood River. He roots for the Toronto Blue Jays. Dylan started working at camp in 2023.

	Robin Cressy Robin, from Portland, Oregon, is our head Videographer.  His favorite website is youtube and he roots for the Portland Trail Blazers.   He enjoys playing basketball, green juicing and he's been to 10 KISS concerts. Robin was a camper at MHSSC in 1982 and has been working with us since 1986.
	Makalu Arnold Makalu is a snowboarder from Salt Lake City. He's in charge of the shaping the mogul jump area as well as videographer for the snowboard and freeski groups. He's been working at camp since 2019.
	Tristan Steen Tristan is a freeskier from Crooked River Ranch in Oregon. His favorite food is tacos and favorite website is youtube. His favorite camp activity is swimming at Lake Timmy and he roots for theLA Galaxy. He's been working at camp since 2022.

	Hayden Schooler Hayden is a ski racer from Truckee, California. He's studying Event Management at Cal State Monterey Bay. His favorite website is nba.com and he roots for the Boston Celtics. Hayden started working at camp in 2024.
	Max Noddings Max is.......well, we know nothing about Max so far. Max started working at camp in 2024. We do know that much.
	Chaz Witter Chaz is a freeskier from Seattle, Washington. He'll be attending Middlebury College. His favorite food is brownies and favorite website is mthood.com. 	Xander Koenig Xander is a snowboarder from Seattle, Washington. He's studying Envoronmental Science at Seattle Central. His favorite food is Rolled Chicken Tacos and favorite website is GeoGuessr.com. Xander roots for the Seattle Mariners and he started working at camp in 2024.
	Leo Heikka Leo is a freeskier from Boston, MA. He'll be attending college at SciencesPo Grenoble in France. He enjoys Indian food and his favorite website is Wikipedia. He roots for the New England Patriots. Leo started working at camp in 2024.
	Simeon Glas Simeon is a professional skier from Kalamazoo, Michigan. He started working at camp in 2024.

In Memory of

	Mark Stegall  1963-2011 Mark, originally from Dallas, Texas, is the Snowboard Program Director/Head Coach, Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club.   He is the current and 5-time USASA Legends Overall National Champion and Slopestyle Champion. Mark is a national level certified coach with USASA.  He is a former Pro Jet Ski Racer, Motocross racer, expert surfer, wakeboarder, BMX racer, and he can ski too.   Mark has been with MHSSC since 1998.
	Spencer Nelson   1990-2010 Spencer is racing for the University of Colorado ski team, where he is majoring in Finance and Marketing.  He has also interned for Atomic Skis.  Spencer's favorite website is CUBuffs.com and he roots for the Colorado Rockies.  He also enjoys mountain biking, rockclimbing and weightlifting.  Spencer started working at camp in 2010.
